Brad Pitt to fight zombies in World War Z!

If you've read The Zombie Survival Guide, you may be prepared for the zombie apocalypse. But how would a real war play out? Author Max Brooks solved that dilemma with World War Z, a collection of first-person accounts spanning the the globe during the decade-long war against the zombies. I have not read the book yet, but if the Survival Guide is any indication, it's fun and well thought.

Brad Pitt's production company, Plan B Entertainment, secured the rights to World War Z in 2007, and has been writing the script ever since. At Comic-Con in San Diego today, we learned that Pitt will also star in the film. Brooks is happy to hear it.

"I'm glad they took their time, and are trying to make the best zombie movie they can," said Brooks. "I'm so glad they stayed with the project and so glad they found the right team." - MTV Movies Blog

J. Michael Straczynski penned the script, with rewrites by Matthew Michael Carnahan. Marc Forster, who did a lukewarm job directing Quantum of Solace, is attached to helm the picture.

Paramount has also optioned The Zombie Survival Guide and The Zombie Survival Guide: Reported Attacks. If World War Z is successful, I guarantee these films will be put into development. This is good news, as the only good zombie movie in years is Zombieland.
