amazing-spider-man-spidey-swinging-foot-and-web-shooter-the-daily

The Amazing Spider-Man is undoubtedly one of the biggest movies coming out this year, but there are a lot of people who still don’t quite know how it ties in with Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. Is it a remake? A reboot? A sequel? Well, from what we’re hearing about the sneak preview, new shots, and Director Mark Webb (500 Days of Summer) himself, it sounds like the new film is a completely different take on Spider-Man. The new trailer confirms it.

'The Woman in Black' review - Harry Potter and the haunted mansion

woman-in-black-2012-daniel-radcliffe-arthur-kipps

Daniel Radcliffe would not be happy if he read the headline for this article. The last Harry Potter movie debuted less than a year ago and he’s been working steadily ever since, trying hard to let us know he is more than just Harry Potter. He hasn’t succeeded yet. Though I enjoyed The Woman in Black, I kept wishing for a little wizard action. Where are Hermoine and Ron when you need them?

'Chronicle' review - Super powers, normal teenagers

chronicle-andrew-crushing-car

There is a clear message to Chronicle: if you ever see a suspiciously round hole in the middle of a field, check it out. Just don’t bring anyone with emotional issues. Matt and Steve were doing just fine until they made the mistake of dragging Andrew down into the hole with them because they needed the light on his camera. Not wise, guys.

'Hunger Games' Super Bowl trailer - When food is raffled by the rich

hunger-games-elizabeth-banks-jennifer-lawrence

I do not know much about The Hunger Games but it’s rumored to be the next big movie series for teens. The film is based on the first of a book series by Suzanne Collins and is about a futuristic society where the rich have so much power and control that they actually force each of the country’s 12 districts of workers to sacrifice one of their own citizens to do battle with one another until only one lives. The winning district gets food and supllies to last at least a year. The star of the movie is Jennifer Lawrence, who plays a young girl from District 12, forced to kill or be killed.

'Chronicle' final trailer is the best yet

Chronicle-2012-movie-car-in-lake

Chronicle is hitting theaters tonight at midnight, and to celebrate, 20th Century Fox has released a new trailer for the Cloverfield-style superhero movie. The story here is pretty simple: three highschool students discover a giant hole in the ground that gives them super powers. The question is, what do you do when you can do anything? Nothing can harm them and soon their “lives start to spin out of control, and their darker sides begin to take over,” according to the plot synopsis. Sounds fun. The special effects look good too, especially considering the low $15 million budget. Then again, District 9 wowed us a couple years ago with a budget of only $30 million and Cloverfield only had a $25 million budget, so anything is possible. So far, the more I see of it, the more excited I get.

First picture of Bond from 'Skyfall' released

Skyfall - First pic of James Bond, in Shanghai

A single picture hardly justifies a blog post (or does it?), but I happen to be quite excited for Skyfall, the next James Bond movie. This picture shows Daniel Craig in Shanghai, China. What he’s doing there, we do not know, but we know that he’s probably packing a few gadgets since Q (a young Q played by Ben Whisaw) has been confirmed for the film as well as two Bond girls, Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe.

Adam Sandler set to star in a movie version of 'Candy Land'

You read that right. Hasbro is teaming up with Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions to turn Candy Land, the simplest board game there is, into a movie. Kevin Lima, who is best known for Enchanted, will direct and the screenplay will be co-written by Sandler and Robert Smigel, who wrote the Happy Madison classic You Don’t Mess with the Zohan. And by classic, we mean a film that somehow still made a ton of money despite being complete crap. Smigel is also a veteran writer for Saturday Night Live and Conan O’Brien. Sandler will star in the movie.

'The Grey' review - Nature Vs Neeson

The Grey is not the type of movie that will win many awards, but it ought to be. It is quite rare that a movie fills me with such dread without resorting to stupid stunts, boogie monsters or serial killers. The danger in The Grey is terrifying because it’s so real. More importantly though, it stars Liam Neeson, who is so well cast that he’s almost playing himself.
