'The Giant Gila Monster' is being remade - Is this the beginning of a B-Movie comeback?

Typically, news of a movie remake is met with incredulous expressions and moans of “why?” or “how could they mess with a classic?”. Every so often, however, a movie is not just worthy of, but entitled to having its story told more than once. That, I believe, is the case with The Giant Gila Monster.

Video: Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg discuss their collaboration on 'The Adventures of Tintin'

One of the most exciting and unique movies coming out this year is The Adventures of Tintin. A joint collaboration between Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, the film recreates the classic comic series, which has sold 350 copies worldwide, using the same motion capture technology that was used to create Gollum in Lord of the Rings and that big gorilla in King Kong. We knew that Spielberg was director and Jackson producer, but it looks like the collaboration goes even deeper. THR interviewed the duo and it appears like they collaborated on set every day.

The Adventures of Tintin is set for a Dec. 21, 2011 release. You can find a really good trailer here

The Adventures of Tintin trailer - Spielberg directs a motion-capture mystery

I know next to nothing about Tintin, his adventures, or this upcoming collaboration between Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson. After seeing the trailer for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, however; I've gone from 0 to 60. The story looks dark and gripping. It's been a while since we've had a good mystery movie in theaters.

LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS is too epic for its own good (review)

Rating:  (Mediocre)

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole intends to be an epic, like Lord of the Rings for families. On paper, it has enough slow-mo shots, big fights, evil villainny, and travel to be such a story. On film, it falls short. While beautifully animated and intimately detailed, this adventure tries so hard to be epic that it's kind of a bore. And don't even get me started on the science of it all, or lack thereof.

Check it out: 8Bits, a short film chock full of video game goodness!

Do you remember 0 and 1, my friends? This is an odd short, but it's has some damn good animation. I'm not entirely sure what it's about, but it involves a big bad guy, an unlikely hero, and a princess that keeps being taken to another castle--classic video game themes. The art reminds me of Psychonauts and the presentation style is a lot like Viewtiful Joe. Never heard of these games? That's fine. You're bound to notice something, be it the 2D transfers, Super Mario sounds, Sonic the Hedgehog bounces, Street Fighter boss battle, Zelda princess, TMNT exit, super copter, or race car ending. If not, hey, it's still a fun 4 minutes.

Is this Bangladeshi Hulk movie about rape? (video)

Oh wow. This certainly takes Bruce Banner's inner drama to a new level. I knew he had issues, but none this bad. FilmDrunk dissects the trailer here, but I must warn you, the more you think about it, the less sense it will make. Enjoy.
