'Safe House' trailer - Denzel Washington toys with Ryan Reynolds

Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds have each had a few setbacks, but they are, undoubtedly, two of the more interesting actors in Hollywood. In Safe House, Washington is playing a villain of sorts, which is always interesting as he’s a difficult guy to hate (and he knows it). Reynolds seems to be more of a straight-laced hero, doing what he has to do to make things right.

Unstoppable trailer brings Soul Asylum's "Runaway Train" to life (video)

I've always hoped a movie would tackle Soul Asylum's epic "Runaway Train." Hollywood, it seems, has listened to my pleas. Starring Chris Pine (Captain Kirk) and Denzel Washington, Unstoppable is about a rookie and veteran conductor that must stop a runaway train before its hazardous chemical cargo collides with a town and kills everyone. Intense! It comes from Tony Scott, who directed Denzel in The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, another movie about a runaway train.

THE BOOK OF ELI proves Denzel can still kick ass

I did not expect much from The Book of Eli. I mean, Denzel Washington’s star is much dimmer than his Training Days and I’ve seen enough post-apocalyptic movies to fill a catalog of world ending scenarios. But the Hughes brothers surprised me. Eli is an ordinary take on a “war ends the world” scenario with extra-ordinary goals. It has more to say than your average action flick and I enjoyed it.
