Shia LaBeouf is "super proud" of 'Transformers 3', claims it won't suck

(Did Michael Bay crush that little kid's dreams?)

I'm not all that familiar with Transformers, but from what I understand, those that are were rather disappointed with Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, to put it lightly.  Still, despite horrendous reviews, accusations of racism and sexism, and only a 20% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Transformers 2 grossed over $400 million in the United States and more than double that worldwide.  We all knew that Transformers 3 was coming.  It was only a matter of time.  After all, Michael Bay seems to have a pathological need to put out a film about explosions every few years.

But should we automatically assume the worst of Transformers 3?  Maybe, maybe not.  Either way, star Shia LeBeouf (who plays Sam Witwicky in the movies) has been going out of his way lately to assure fans that Transformers 3 will not suck.

Transformers 3 stars filming in Detroit soon. Want to be an extra?

Michael Bay has chosen to destroy portions of Detroit in the climax of Transformers 3. As a lifelong Michiganian, I applaud this decision and I'd be more than happy to help him choose which places to level.

Filming in Detroit will start at the end of August and stay in the area for 2-3 weeks. If you'd like to be an extra in the film, follow the directions on MichiganActing.com. If not, you can join me in snooping around once filming starts. I'll need people with ladders, hard helmets, and fake mustaches.

ALIEN INVASION movies are taking over Hollywood! 16 of them! (FULL LIST)

Pack up your children and grab yer guns because aliens are going to be everywhere for the next couple years. Hollywood has always loved them, especially Steven Spielberg, but thanks to the success of District 9, Star Trek, and Avatar last year, a flurry of new alien projects are in development. Sadly, not a one of them is a sequel to Batteries Not Included. Maybe next year. I've left out a couple movies like Green Lantern since they are only somewhat alien related.

Behold the full list below.

Review - Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen **

Watching Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is like having a friend clang all of your silverware together a few inches from your face, and yell sexist jokes in a racially stereotypical voice for 2 1/2 hours, all while you watch the last Transformers.

The plot as I understand it: Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) is leaving for college and his parents are having a hard time letting go. He’s still dating Mikaela Banes (Megan Fox) who is extremely hot, or so the camera constantly reminds us, but he won’t say the “L” word (love). When he gets to college, he’s treated to an extremely realistic depiction of dorm life and its temptations. This section of the movie might as well be a documentary; my first day of college was exactly the same—full of Playboy models who all want my body and sex parties.
