Here's a cool video tribute to DC Comics movies

While we should never forget how bad Batman & Robin is, there have been some great movie moments for DC Comics characters. This collection of cool moments was found by Peter Sciretta at /Film. Though some of these movies are pretty bad, this video sure paints a different picture.

Freddy Krueger is back (poster)

After 25 years, nine feature films, a short-lived TV series, and a Treehouse of Horror episode of The Simpsons, 62 year-old Robert Englund has finally lost his reliable gig as Freddy Krueger. Replacing him is Jackie Earle Haley--he played Rorschach in Watchmen--for A Nightmare on Elm Street. The film is a complete reboot for the long-running horror series.

Wesley Strick is writing; he wrote the screenplay for Cape Fear, The Saint, and (sadly) Doom. Hopefully it was poor directing that doomed Doom, not the screenplay. Samuel Bayer is directing the reboot. Bayer hasn't directed much, mostly concert videos. He might be great though, kind of a blank slate. Unfortunately, Michael Bay is listed as one of three producers.

Freddy's face has yet to be fully revealed. At the top of this article is the only other picture available.
